Wildfire smoke is causing air quality concerns across parts of northwestern Ontario as several large fires continue to burn.
Kenora 20 is still the most active blaze in the region, now over 31,000 hectares and not under control.
Fire crews have been focusing their efforts on the eastern edge, where progress is being made.
Smoke from that fire and others has prompted Environment Canada to issue special air quality statements for Kenora, Fort Frances, and surrounding areas. Officials warn the smoke could reduce visibility and pose health risks, especially for those with breathing difficulties.
While Kenora 14 and Fort Frances 4 are both being held, restrictions remain in place in all three zones as firefighting efforts continue.
