Smoke warnings continue for Northwest Ontario

Northwestern Ontario is still draped in smoke from the prairie wildfires.

Air quality warnings are in place for several places west of Terrace Bay, including Thunder Bay, Kenora, Fort Frances and Dryden.

Some areas and spots along the Hudson Bay coast are unaffected by the smoke.

Three new fires were spotted Wednesday in the Northwest region.

One of those new fires was put out, and two others were extinguished since Tuesday evening.

Overall 42 fires are burning in the region, with 6 out of control and 7 under control.
