A special air quality statement is in effect for Kenora, Grassy Narrows, Wabaseemoong, Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Lookout, and Eastern Lac Seul.
The statement was released this morning, warning that smoke from forest fires could cause poor air quality throughout today and possibly into the weekend.
Here are some tips to help you stay safe as smoke levels worsen:
- Limit time outdoors and postpone any outdoor activities.
- Close your windows and doors, if possible.
- If you’re spending time outdoors, wear a NIOSH-certified N95 mask.
- Use a certified portable air cleaner, if you have one at home.
