Still waiting for next phase to start on the All Nations Hospital

Still no movement to move to the next phase of planning for the All Nations Hospital in Kenora.

The project has been stalled at Phase 2 for almost two years now.

President and CEO of Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Cheryl O’Flaherty is optimistic they are getting close to move onto the next phase of planning.

“‘We’re working very closely with the government on that project,” explains O’Flaherty.

“It hasn’t reached approval yet, but we’re very hopeful in a short period of time that we’ll get there. They promote it all the time on Instagram and Facebook all the time so we’re very hopeful that’s a good sign and that we’ll be getting approval very soon.”

O’Flaherty adds they are ready to move on to Phase 3 of the project.

“We’re waiting for the government a final decision about approving the new hospital to move to the next stage, which is detailed design, that would lead to then to construction drawings and all that.”

Phase 3 would include detailed costs of the 81-bed health care facility.
