Suspect arrested for violating prohibition order

The Sioux Lookout OPP says they have arrested a person for violating a prohibition order regarding children.

Back on Friday evening, police were called to Town Beach after a number of people were reported to be intoxicated.

Upon arrival, one of the people fled the area and attempted to evade police.

The OPP found out the 21 year old from North Cariou Lake First Nation had been bound by a prohition order against them attending any public park or swimming area, where youths under the age of 16 might be expected to be.

He’s being held in custody pending a court appearance on Wednesday in Kenora.
