Every day is some kind of national holiday, and today is an interesting one: it’s National Trading Card Day.
It’s not just Pokémon; it can be sports (baseball, hockey, football, soccer), anime (One Piece), movies (Star Wars, Disney), and a lot more.
I feel like in the last year or so, it’s just gotten bigger. I started collecting about a year ago because Pokémon launched Pokémon TCG Pocket for mobile, where you can open packs every day. It’s definitely a marketing tactic; once you get addicted to opening the virtual packs, you’re like “I wanna do the real thing,” and then you’re trapped.
