Truth and Reconciliation on the agenda for city council

Kenora city council wants to know what the city is doing in terms of the Truth and Reconciliation recommendations.

Councillor Kelsie Van Belleghem has introduced a Notice of Motion directing city administration to provide a yearly report.

It would outline ways in which the city has addressed the calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Her motion says it’s imperative to keep accurate, public records of the city’s progress.

Council voted to endorse the motion with only councillor Bob Bernie voting against.
