Two facing charges after drug bust is North Spirit Lake

A 51-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man from North Spirit Lake First Nation are facing drug trafficking charges after a Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) search of two homes on Airport Road turned up more than $60,000 worth of suspected crack cocaine.

NAPS also found cash and drug paraphernalia in their search.

The police secured search warrants through an investigation into drug trafficking within North Spirit Lake First Nation.

The two accused individuals have both been released from custody with future court dates.
