Two killed in crash east of Kenora

Two people have been killed in a fatal crash just east of Kenora.

The collision involved a pickup truck and SUV Saturday just after noon on Highway 17 east near Kimberly Road.

The two occupants of the SUV were killed.

They have been identified as a 76-year-old woman from Dryden and a 68-year-old man from Ottawa.

There were five people in the pick-up truck, and they were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway from Longbow Lake Road to Kimberly Road was closed for about 7 hours Saturday afternoon and evening.

The OPP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage in the area at the time of the accident is asked to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
