Two more arrests in Mishkeegogamang assault

An assault earlier this month on the Mishkeegogamang First Nation (New Osnaburgh) south of Pickle Lake, has resulted in two more arrests.

The incident was reported to the Nishnawbe Aski Police on August 5th on Muddy Lane.

Initially, four people were arrested and two people were sent to hospital in Thunder Bay for treatment of their injuries.

Following their investigation, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old have also been charged with aggravated assault and the possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The youth also faces eight counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Police say they are continuing in their investigation and both people have been remanded into custody pending future court appearances.
