Voters in three southern Ontario ridings are going to the polls in provincial by-elections today.
Two of the ridings were held by Progressive Conservative cabinet ministers Caroline Mulroney and Neil Lumsden before announcing their decisions to step down earlier this year.
The other was held by former NDP deputy leader Doly Begum.
She left the party in the spring to run in a federal by-election for the Liberal Party, winning the seat in the riding of Scarborough-Southwest, which she had held provincially for eight years.
Six candidates are running in the riding of Hamilton East-Stoney Creek.
Seven are running, including one independent, in Scarborough-Southwest, with seven others vying for the position in York-Simcoe
The provincial by-elections also come just days after the federal Liberals swept three seats in by-elections held in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec on Monday.
