Water levels continue to drop

Despite recent rains, water levels on Lake of the Woods continue to drop.

The lake went down 6 centimeters last week and is expecting another decrease of 2 to 3 centimeters this week.

Even water levels are going down, the Lake of the Woods Control Board continues to reduce outflows at the Norman Dam.

One decrease was authorized yesterday and there will be two more next week…one on Monday and one next Thursday.

As a result, water levels on the Winnipeg River are expected to drop 36 centimeters below the dam by the end of next week, and 19 centimeters at the Dalles.

River levels in Minaki are not expected to be affected.
