Water levels starting to go down

After months of increasing, water levels on Lake of the Woods area starting to go down.

Inflows into the lake have stabilized and there has been moderate rainfall over the past week.

As a result, the lake has gone down two centimeters and as expected to drop another 2 to 4 centimeters in the next seven days.

Lake of the Woods Control Board says water levels are still at the 80 percentile for this time of year.

The Norman Dam continues to operate fully open, and no change is expected for the foreseeable future.
