Work this week on Norman Dam and Kenora Powerhouse

Water levels on the Winnipeg River are expected to fluctuate this week.

That’s because the Norman Dam and the Kenora Powerhouse are being shut down for work by the dam’s operators.

In the meantime, Lake of the Woods continues to be low for this time of year.

It dropped one centimeter last week, and is expected to remain unchanged or go down another centimeter over the next seven days.

That’s because there has been very little rain over the past few weeks.

Other than a bit of rain in the forecast this week, the drainage basin is expected to remain fairly dry.
