Riding NDP circulate petition regarding Ignace Sawmill

The NDP in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding says US tariff’s threaten to further destabilize the forest industry in northwestern Ontario.

To that end, the party has launched another petition aimed at keeping the Ignace sawmill running and to re-open the Ear Fall sawmill.

So far the petition has garnered more than 250 signatures.

The NDP is also asking that a Forestry Job Protection Task Force be established, and the provincial and federal governments develop a joint strategy.
