We’re exactly halfway through the year and with it being summer, there are plenty of opportunities to get out there! Whether your ideal day out is going to an orchestra, the speedway or a FIFA World Cup event, there is something for everyone.
Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra
If you want to hear the 65-member Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra live, check them out tomorrow, Friday, July 3, under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion.
All you have to do beforehand is purchase a table, then bring your own chair and some cash for the bar. The show starts at 7 p.m., so to buy your tickets, go to lowc.ca.
LOTW Speedway Sunday Weekly Races
If you want to see some competitive racing, this Sunday, July 5, is the Lake of the Woods Speedway’s Sunday Race! Gates open at 3:30 p.m., hot laps start at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 4:30 p.m. Concessions will be available for food, snacks, and drinks.
Gates and pit admission prices are cash-only:
General Admission:
- Adults: $15
- Ages 13-17: $10
- Ages 6-12: $5
- Ages 5 & under: Free
(HST is included in the prices)
Pit Area Admission:
- Driver/car: $25
- Pit crew member 13+: $25
- Ages 6-12: $10
- Ages 5 & under: Free

Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026
If you’ve been watching the FIFA World Cup games, you’ve got to check out this once-in-a-lifetime event coming to Kenora!
On Tuesday, July 7, you can be a part of live screenings of two FIFA World Cup Round of 16 matches with kickoffs starting at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. And while you’re watching, you can check out the soccer and sponsor activations, beer gardens and food trucks. You can even grab a few photos while you’re there.
