Yet another Integrity Commissioner’s report on council Ritch Noel.
Mayor Jack Harrison submitted the complaint about the city’s legal costs and accused Noel of trying to influence spending of the Council and the staff on legal fees,
The Integrity Commissioner found there was a “technical breach the Municipal Code of Conduct, but nothing that councillor Noel said had an impact on decision-making.”
Harrison says they won’t be taking this any further.
“I’m not going to bring this forward to the court,” Harrison told Dryden city council at its open meeting Monday night.
“I’m loath to spending any more money at the courts after spending, to defend ourselves, from a judicial review application from councillor Noel. I think the best way to handle this we have an election coming up. We’ll let the voters decide.”
Council has agreed to accept the Integrity Commissioner’s report but will take no further action on it.
