Lake levels continue to rise

Despite fairly dry conditions over the the past week, the Lake of the Woods Control Board says water levels continue to rise.

Over the past week they went up about 7 centimeters and are expected to rise another 8 to 15 centimeters over the next seven days.

That’s despite the fact, two more increases in outflow from the Norman Dam has been approved.

The first is taking place today and the second will be next Tuesday.

Water levels on the Winnipeg River below the dam are expected to go up about 32 centimers as a result, and 17 centimeters at the Dalles.
