George was born in Kenora, Ontario at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, he resided in Wabaseemoong First Nation until he was a teen and then moved to Hennessy Terrace in Kenora.
George joins his beloved family in the spirit world where he’ll be joined by his grandparents John and Elsie Kent and George Hunter Sr. and Alice Muckle, brothers Lester and Joey Hunter, stepfather Tim Burguss, uncles Gabriel Bob Kent, Harold Roy Kent, Roderick Kent, John Hunter, David and Norman Hunter, Johnny Hunter and Guy Hunter, aunts Doris Henry, Mable Muckle and Victoria S., cousins Freda Muckle, Violet Muckle, Leslie Muckle, Clarence Muckle and Alvin M., along with other family members that left before him.
George was truly blessed to have parents. He was always ecstatic when his mom Sally, would come and visit all the way from Winnipeg and FaceTime his dad and just had a big smile.
He is survived by brothers Derrick, Taylor, Jonathan (Brenna), sister Virginia Kent, aunts Harriet Bigblood and Louise Hunter, uncle Danny Hunter, nieces and nephews Cheyenne Kent, Stephanie Kent (Naldo), Patrina, Trevor, Drake, Alyssa, Melody, Reshay, Shay (Craig), Dennis Hunter, Rosaleen (Jimmy) Clifford, Geoffrey, Pauline (Charles), Donna Patrick, Gretchen (Rocky), Mike (Jennifer), Wendy (John Paul), Vince (Laura), Philip (Gladys), Roger Mc D., Eada, Frank, Guy, Marie, Beverly Bigblood, Trudy Madline Mc D., William (Allison), Jaivvein, Allissa, Dane, Roman, Stephanie, Shaylene, Annabelle, Zoe and Ava Kent, grandson Little Hunter Scott, grandchildren Alanica, Charlie, Spencer, Sally, Kingleyis, Aryan, Braedy, Keianna, Keirihanna, cousin Charlene (Floyd) and close family friends John (Carla), Isaac, Mable, Julio, Pat and his childhood best friend Daniel McDonald.
He loved living with James Muckle, he treated him like his own little brother. He also loved talking to Colleen over the phone and her visits. He also treated his niece Nicole Hunter and great niece Emry Hunter. He really enjoyed the visit that he had with his nephew Kendrick, also loved when his nieces would come and visit. He really loved his mom and dad when they would come to visit.
He really enjoyed going on Facebook teasing family and friends and had a sense of humour, he always helped people when they needed help. He also loved downloading music for family and friends and really loved watching hockey. He also really appreciated when Charles would come over to help him with whatever needed to be done.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Edlund (his home care worker), the Hennessy Terrace Staff and his neighbours, he felt they got along very well and felt they were all family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre from 10:00am – 4:00 pm. A wake service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 beginning at 11:30am at the Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:00am at the Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School, Wabaseemoong First Nations with burial to follow.
