Melvina passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital with her family at her side.

She was predeceased by her son Russell James Muckle, her parents Robert and Gladys Muckle, her brothers Stanley Muckle and Johnny Muckle, her sisters Nancy and Maryann Muckle, her nephews Sheldon Muckle, Russell Muckle, Nathan Muckle, her aunts and uncles, Alex Muckle, Rex Muckle, Maurice Muckle, John Kent, Elizabeth Kent, Mary Muckle, Margaret Carpenter, Annie Boyd, Ivan Muckle, Stephanie, Miranda, Florence Carpenter, Linda Muckle and Ulanda Muckle.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 28 years Roger Smith, her 2 children Michelle (Russell), Joelle (Naz), grandkids Troy, Dalton, Evan, Toya, Roxanne, Aiden and Jonovan. Her brothers and sisters Annette, Mavis, Gloria Paishk (Gus), Wayne (Myra), Charles (Charlene). As well as nephews Jonathan (Rachel), Donavon, Chantelle (Shade), Leann and Erin, nieces Farrah, Ryan, James, Roe (Lanna), Reil (Jess), Rheanna (Peter), Melissa, Brittney, Stanley, Lucinda, Kylie, April (Terry), Savannah (Lyle), and Chris J. Cameron, cousins Philip Kent, Maurice Muckle, Lillian and Martha Carpenter, Rodrick Kent, Doris Henry, Sally Hunter and Ken Carpenter, extended family and friends too numerous to mention.

She loved spending time with family and friends, swimming, laughing, joking, playing cards, playing pool, she was a good listener and very understanding person. She love rice picking, blueberry picking, family gatherings, BBQ’s at her sisters place, Christmas dinners and she also enjoyed attending church. She also enjoyed her evening rides, fishing and ice fishing, road trips, shore lunches, she was a sweet person whom we are going to miss so much.

A wake service will be held at Melvina Muckle’s residence on Sunday, December 17, 2023 beginning at 1:00pm. Wake service will continue at the Whitedog Community Hall on Monday, December 18, 2023 beginning at 10:00am. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:00am with Pastor Robert Wittmeier officiating with interment to follow in Whitedog First Nation.
