The Shoal Lake #40 First Nation is holding a grand opening ceremoney for two new buildings in the island community.
One is the First Nations Child and Family Services (FNCFS) Prevention Building.
It had a cost of over $17.6 million and is designed as a hub for prevention programs and services on the First Nation.
It includes a teaching kitchen, six offices, a cultural room, a boardroom, a meeting room, a playroom and visiting rooms.
The second building cost over $15.6 million and is called the Jordan’s Principle Building.
It’s designed as a space for children and youth in the community and has 12 offices, two assessment rooms, one therapy room and one room for elders.
The grand opening of the buildings will take place at 10 am on Tuesday.
